Getting Started
Welcome to Kapiʻolani CC
If you are a first-time, transfer, or returning student starting or coming back to us at Kapiʻolani Community College in Fall 2025, you are at the right place. ALL students must complete a New Student Orientation (NSO) before being able to register for classes, as many processes may have changed since you were last with us.
If you have already received your acceptance email, a welcome email with more information about NSO and how to remove holds are being sent from kapstart@hawaii.edu. You can expect to receive it within a week from receiving your acceptance email.

ALL forms and links require that you login with your UH Username and password. You may need to use a private browser or incognito window if you have trouble logging in.

If you want to register for classes, please complete the following:
-
NSO - Please watch ALL of the videos. You must also complete the Registration Clearance form and the NSO Quiz;
-
Health requirements uploaded and evaluated by Med+Proctor (most students had MMR, Varicella & Tdap vaccinations as a child and just need a health record and to update their TB clearance);
-
Placement Test or you previously completed a college-level English and math course within the UH System;
-
If you are a transfer student from outside of the UH System, please complete your own unofficial transfer evaluation using the UH Course Transfer Database (you must register for at least one class first and then complete the Transcript Credit Evaluation Request form before the campus will begin your official transcript evaluation).

If you have completed the above, you are ready for an Advising and Registration session. You can sign up here!
You will receive a confirmation email with the details from STAR Balance.

If the appointment time no longer works for you:
1. Click CANCEL in the STAR Balance email confirmation
2. Follow these steps to register for another advising session that works for your schedule.
If you need further assistance, please email us at kapstart@hawaii.edu or stop by Kapiʻolani CC, ʻIliahi Building, Room 231 (Kīkaha o Laeʻahi Center), Monday through Friday from 10am - 2pm.
