Summer Programs
for Incoming Freshmen

Before classes start in Fall 2022, we are offering several Summer Programs to help you get a running start as you head into your first semester of college! 

Hawaiian Student Bridge

July 7 - 22, 2022 | Monday-Friday 8:30-11:30 am

Synchronous ZOOM with huakaʻi (field trips)

Open to Hawaiian or Part Hawaiian students entering KCC for the first time.  Join us this summer to get a head start on your academic journey. Learn about your strengths and gifts, how to work best in teams and more about Queen KapiÊ»olani and the areas around our campus (i.e. LÄ“Ê»ahi or Diamond head. Earn 3, free credits for this IS 108-Foundation to College course.

Hawaiian Student Math Boot Camp

Summer 2022

 

Hawaiian Student Math Boot Camp is designed to help Native Hawaiian students who have a goal to improve their math skills and place into a higher math level course. You will progress using EdReady technology monitored by peer mentors and program staff to keep you on track toward reaching your goal.

Health Bridge Program

June 2022 ~ August 2022

 

Open to students interested in health professions! This program will allow you to complete PHYL 141 & PHYL 141L which are required for most health programs. And it's all free! Click here to learn more.

Pasefika Bridge Program

May 31 - July 1, 2022 | Monday - Friday 9am- 2pm

​

Open to Pasefika students. Meet peers and get free college credits! Food, technology, and supplies included. Courses included are IS 109 and an English and Math Brush-up. Click here for more information.

Lunalilo Scholars Program

May 2022 ~ August 2022

Open to students who demonstrate academic potential, but lack the family and financial support to attend college (with preference given to students with Native Hawaiian ancestry). If accepted, summer bridge is required. The priority deadline to apply is April 15! Click here to view our flyer or click here for more information.

TRIO

June 13 - August 5, 2022 | Monday - Thursday

11:00 - 12:30 pm via ZOOM

 

To qualify for TRIO, you must be a first-generation college student, low-income, or have a documented disability. Free ENG100 and 100S (6 credits), books, and laptop rental. For more information, click here, or contact TRIO at (808) 734-9553 or triosss@hawaii.edu.
